How to Earn FFXIV Gil
Gil is an essential currency in Final Fantasy 14 that allows players to purchase equipment, mounts, houses and materials. Guildleves, leves, FATE Dungeons and Challenge Log entries offer numerous ways to earn this currency.

Level Up Your Crafting and Gathering Classes
FFXIV Gil is the main currency of the game and players should strive to accumulate as much of it as possible to upgrade weapons, armor, mounts, housing furniture and crafting materials. Unfortunately, traditional methods of farming gil can often take too much time and money without providing sufficient returns.
Crafting and Gathering classes offer the fastest way to gain Gil in Final Fantasy XIV. When new content releases, this can be especially effective as Gear will become much sought after during its initial week following such updates.

Grow Thavnairian Onions in Your Garden
Thavnair is home to alkali sands which produce pungent, tear-inducing vegetables known as Thavnair Grains that grow incredibly aromatic, tear-inducing greens called Thavnair Grains that are popular among chocobos and sell for high prices on the Market Board. You can either obtain this produce from quests or grow it yourself; though for the latter option home ownership and reliable access to a garden are required.
You have two ways of getting Thavnirian onion seeds: purchasing them at market boards or cross breeding other common plants to generate your own. Cross breeding may be quicker but will take 10 days longer before your crops are ready for harvesting.
To grow crops successfully in Free Company houses or those you own partially in your housing ward, you require both a house and Deluxe Garden Patches that only can be located outside houses. Thanalan Topsoil soil offers increased chances of seed crossbreeding - something which speeds up leveling faster - while fertilizers shorten growth time by 1 real hour per use at an extra cost per use.
Explore Treasure Maps
As well as crafting and gathering, FFXIV players can also earn ffxiv gil selling through treasure maps. Treasure maps are activated when certain objects interact with certain others around the world and release an army of enemies into battle against you; once defeated you can access your reward - such as raw gil, Tomestones, crafting materials or mounts!
Disciples of the Land can earn timeworn maps by completing Wondrous Tales and collecting items at level 40 or higher. Once deciphered, these maps will reveal where a treasure chest lies - deciphering which unlocks it and grants access to various treasures inside!
